“Jongink, the dream of sustainability, for pachamama and for life”. Though it seems like utopia, together we can achieve it!
Jongink is a sustainable and ecological life project, based in Holbox, a small island in the Caribbean, not far from the Mexican coast.

A land among many where the problem of waste disposal is clearly visible. Over the years they have been on the island, tons and tons of waste have been burned and / or buried.
The founders of the project, Jaguar and Ignacia, have the dream of being able to recycle all the plastic of the island, transforming it, thanks to a specific shredding machine, into ecological PET bricks to be able to build structures and in particular a cultural center, to promote awareness and the reconnection with Mother earth; a place where it will be possible to teach children the responsibility of taking care of their planet, and thus ensuring a better life.

“Self-sustainable life is possible” says Ignacia “if everyone is ready to put their grain of sand, together we have the chance to change the world.
What we do here is try to eliminate waste, rather than produce it and to separate the garbage. By then collecting the organic waste of the inhabitants of the island, we are creating a large compost to be able to grow our vegetables together with a community garden.

A place where everything can be reused and not thrown away, without producing waste, so that the cycle of life continues. “
It all comes down to transforming our bad habits into good ones, and by doing our small part we will be able to achieve big things.
We are all one, and we are all part of LIFE.

Jongink, un sueño sustentable, por la pachamama y por la vida“. 

Aun parezca utópico, juntos podemos realizarlo. 

Jongink es un proyecto de vida sustentable y ecológico, basado en Holbox, una pequeña isla de los Caribes, cerca de la cuesta mexicana.

Una tierra como muchas, dónde el problema de basura es bien visible: en los últimos años han sido quemados y/ o enterrados miles de toneladas de residuos. Los fundadores del proyecto, Jaguar y Ignacia, tienen el sueño de poder reciclar todo el plástico de la isla, trasformadolo, gracias a una específica maquina trituradora, en bloqués ecológicos de PET para poder construir estructuras, en particular un centro cultural, para promover la consciencia y la reconexión con la madre tierra. Un lugar donde, gracias a distintos taller musicales y artísticos, será posible enseñar a los niños la responsabilidad de cuidar del planeta, y asegurar de esta manera la vida.

“La vida autosustentable es posible” dice Ignacia “si cada uno pon su grano de arena, juntos cambiaremos el mundo. Lo que hacemos aquí, es intentar de elimar los residuos, de no desperdiciar, y separar la basura. Recogiendo los residuos orgánicos de los habitantes de la isla, estamos dando vida a una gran compostera para poder cultivar juntos a la tierra una huerta comunitaria.
